Orchestration Services
Orchestration is both and art and a science. There is so much more to it than simply knowing ranges and transpositions…
- An orchestrator must have an intimate knowledge of each instrument’s capabilities…
- Must know how to voice a chord for maximum balance… and how to score it to achieve a specific desired effect (ethereal, heavy, thick, light, balanced, shrill, etc.)…
- An orchestrator must know how to create specific textures and special effects…
- But most importantly… an orchestrator must have an intuitive “feel” for how to handle the orchestra and turn the above knowledge into a work of art.
In short, there is no substitute for knowledge, experience, and artistic sensibility. My experience as a composer for all types of ensembles has sharpened my orchestration chops…
