Professional Orchestration Services

Orchestration is both an art and a science, and it’s my favorite aspect of composing. There is so much more to it than simply knowing ranges and transpositions. A good orchestrator must…

  • Have an intimate knowledge of each instrument’s capabilities…
  • Know how to voice a chord for proper balance and maximum impact
  • Know how to achieve any desired effect (ethereal, heavy, thick, light, balanced, shrill, etc.), and how to create specific textures and special effects…
  • And most importantly… have an intuitive “feel” for how to handle the orchestra and turn the above knowledge into a work of art.
“Aaron is a fantastic orchestrator and a pleasure to work with. He made the unusual instrumentation for our project sound like a million bucks: full, transparent and lively. I look forward to working with him again.”
– A.J. Robb, Rocky Mountain Repertory Theater

There is no substitute for knowledge, experience, and artistic sensibility. My experience as a composer for all types of ensembles has sharpened my orchestration chops. I also picked up many “secrets” by studying orchestration with Scott Smalley, legendary orchestrator for Danny Elfman, Basil Polidouros, Alan Silvestri, David Newman, and other top film composers.

I would love to put my talent and expertise to work making your music sound terrific. (Click here for audio demos.)

I can work from your Sibelius or Finale file, MIDI file, Logic file, audio recording, lead sheet, printed score, or handwritten sketch.

As an added benefit, I write straight into Sibelius Music Notation Software, which means several things…

  • I can work quickly and efficiently (which means you get the finished product sooner)…
  • Parts are ready in a fraction of the time (so you can start rehearsing sooner)…
  • There are few to no errors in the score and parts (saving precious rehearsal time)… and…
  • It saves on copying costs (saving you mucho dinero).

If you’re looking for a competent orchestrator at a reasonable rate for your musical, film score, or other project, contact me to discuss your vision…
