I just finished up another piece called “Fanfare for the Big Game”. It’s scored for 27-piece British-style brass band, and I believe it will sound great with a Wind Ensemble, too.
I’ve had fragments of this piece on my hard drive for years, but I never got around to finishing it. At least, not until I noticed a fanfare competition with a looming deadline. Let me tell you, there’s nothing like a deadline to motivate your butt into high gear to finish a piece of music!
Regardless of the results of the competition, it feels pretty damn good to have another piece finished. That feeling of finishing a piece of music is the second best part of being a composer.
The best part?
Hearing your work performed!
Until that time, here’s Sibelius’s mockup of “Fanfare for the Big Game”…
